It mightn’t be as bright and bold as Elvis’ Graceland, but the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston is a pilgrimage worth taking for any reggae lover.
The home/museum is a classified historic site where anyone can walk around and see how Marley lived. You might be surprised at just how simplistic looking his home was but then remember that this was a man who tried to live an uncomplicated life.
It’s a great way to spend an afternoon in Kingston and a true showcase of the Jamaican icon. If you want to see what it was like to live like Marley, part of the home has an open decked area for lounging. If you’re lucky enough to be there when its quiet you might even get the chance to lie in a hammock. Even if you don’t know anything about the man, the museum is a good place to learn all the essentials on the reggae icon.
